Background

interiorstylestudio was founded by Lisa Mitchell in April 2009, following a move out of the commercial interiors world,  enabling her to work on a diverse range of projects for Private Clients, and also providing a freelance consultancy service to other Design & Architectural practices.

Lisa has broad design experience, having focused on workplace and residential design, as well as retail and hospitality.  Her training and experience has been gained whilst working for 3 highly regarded Design & Architectural practices -  Conran & Partners, SheppardRobson and Robarts Interiors & Architecture.  Lisa has worked on projects  based in London, Athens, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Kolkata, and this international exposure, allied to her 3 years living and working in China, have helped refine a contemporary design approach inspired by cultural context. Prior to working in the design industry, Lisa worked in advertising.

In 2003, Lisa achieved a 'Distinction' in Interior Design from Chelsea College of Art having decided to move out of the advertising industry and retrain in 2001. Her insights and approach in designing for people, are also influenced by her first degree in which she gained a 2:1 BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of St.Andrews, Scotland.
